Join us for Breakaway 2017!
Breakaway is an in town mission trip that meets and stays at People's Church during Easter Break. During the day we will travel to work sites around Fresno, and at night we will have a worship service and a message back on the Peoples Church Campus. Students will sleep in tents on the Peoples Church Campus. Come join us this year as we worship God and serve our community!
Change the City, Change The World.
P2 Missions provides opportunities for students to understand the spiritual impact of sharing the gospel. Church planting ministry opens the door for students to share the message of God’s grace and the gift of reconciliation in the cities.
Participants will serve with their church group on a ministry team that serves a church planter in that church’s context. What students learn through ministry experience throughout the day will be reinforced through a daily worship gathering and church group devotions. At the beginning of the project, participants will be involved in the City Experience, which is a time that is dedicated to sharing the culture and heartbeat of a city. The City Experience varies per project since it is created in its context. Tiered training is a part of the Sunday schedule, and ministry sites are served Monday through Thursday.
Ministry may include (but are not limited to):
- Prayer walking
- Door-to-door surveying
- Random acts of kindness
- Painting wheelchair ramps
- Sports camps
- Vacation Bible School
- Serving in community gardens
Join us Wednesday, June 29th, as we have our first worship team night. This event is open to any and all who are interested in being part of our team next year. We need anyone who loves music and wants to be part of something great, no need to play an instrument or sing, we have a place for everyone!
Change the City, Change the World.
World Changers is a ministry of LifeWay Student Ministry designed to engage students as construction volunteers. At World Changers, your students will be involved in basic home repair, community building, worship and they will receive practical training. They will make a difference in the lives of the those who reside in the greater Fresno area.
Where are we serving?
Our mission site will be Fresno, CA. The city hosts will educate and guide us through this project. We will be staying at the Fresno Rescue Mission.
What will we be doing?
Students will learn to put their faith into action as they work on a disadvantaged resident's home and share the love of Christ through their service. They will be challenged to adopt the on-mission lifestyle when they return home. They will also be called to move beyond a one-week experience to a deeper level of commitment in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Drop off – June 27 (TBD AM)
Pick Up – July 2 (TBD PM)
Why are we going?
Regardless of age, Jesus Christ calls us and equips us to be His witness to the World. He chooses to work through us. Through our obedient service we will show His love and make an eternal difference in the community by providing home improvements. Also, and just as important, the students’ hearts and lives will be changed. Students are always amazed as they see the need in the world, come to understand the importance of missions, and realize that they can make a difference! This will be a life-changing week.
